Notes: I Am Sitting In A Room is Alvin Lucier's idea of a pure sound experiment. Through playback and recording of thirty-two successive generations of his own speaking voice, the sound becomes abstracted into a pure harmonic. The album starts with a relatively bland Lucier stating, "I am sitting in a room," but as the repetitious generations progress, the sound is transformed into pure ambience.
